Healthcare Accounting Director

Job Summary

Overseeing revenue and medical cost accounting operations in a Medicare Advantage environment, the contract Director of Accounting will manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the oversight of Medicare and Medicaid premium revenue, medical claims, and healthcare-related costs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support accurate financial reporting and business decision-making
• Serve as the primary liaison for audits and drive process improvements within the accounting function

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in healthcare and managed care accounting, particularly within Medicare Advantage
• Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting to CMS, NAIC, and other state agencies
• Proven leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams
• Expertise in GAAP financial reporting and audit management
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with FP&A
