Healthcare Advocate (Medical Coding)

Job Summary

Healthcare Advocate (Medical Coding), is a full-time remote position focused on resolving complex medical billing and insurance cases through detailed analysis and advocacy for users.

Key Responsibilities

• Own cases from handoff to resolution, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-through
• Review and validate coding on EOBs for accuracy and consistency with services provided
• Identify and escalate coding conflicts and billing errors to the appropriate parties

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in patient/healthcare advocacy, medical billing, or health insurance
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in medical billing or coding, with knowledge of CPT and ICD-10
• Flexible schedule to work 40 hours between 7am - 8pm EST, 7 days/week
• Comfortable working directly with provider offices, health insurers, and debt collection groups
• Solid understanding of HIPAA and PHI handling
