Healthcare Charge Entry Specialist

Job Summary

To support a remote healthcare team, the full-time Healthcare Charge Entry Specialist will perform data entry of anesthesia demographics and charges into the patient accounting system while ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create charge batches from paperwork and enter patient demographics while verifying insurance eligibility
• Review and enter charge data into the patient accounting system, maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Assist with billing issues and audit compliance reports as needed

Required qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare business office, preferably with billing/coding experience
• Knowledge of anesthesia billing and relevant coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, ASA, HCPCS)
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers Compensation rules and regulations
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word and MS Excel
