Healthcare Programmer

Job Summary

To support the Healthcare Innovations team, the remote Healthcare Programmer, Medicaid and Pharmacy will apply programming skills to manage, analyze, and report on complex datasets while ensuring high-quality data-driven insights and supporting research design and project coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Extract, recode, merge, and de-duplicate datasets to prepare them for analysis
• Conduct statistical analyses and generate customized reports summarizing data analysis results
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior SAS programmers while maintaining comprehensive documentation for code and programs

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with large-scale healthcare administrative or claims data
• Direct experience processing and analyzing Medicare, Medicaid, and/or pharmaceutical pricing data
• Experience using SQL, Python, R, and/or other data analysis tools
• Knowledge and experience with SAS in research or analytical settings, particularly in health or social sciences
