Healthcare Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Large Group Underwriter (Healthcare).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite and rate large groups, managing a book of business with up to 100,000 members and $350 million in premiums
• Analyze underwriting risk, determine premium rates, and recommend benefit and funding plan design options
• Provide consultative services to internal and external customers and assist in training underwriting staff

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in a related field, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience analyzing claims in a current or recent role
• Proficient in Excel (basic formulas)
• Experience with Stepwise Automated Rating Model
