Job Summary
Providing advocacy for individuals seeking disability benefits, the full-time Hearings and Appeals Analyst will work remotely to develop claims for the Social Security Administration, including conducting pre-hearing reviews and drafting briefs.
Key responsibilities
- Complete pre-hearing reviews and develop files related to work activity, medical opinions, and past relevant work
- Write pre- and post-hearing briefs, including OTR requests and responses to expert interrogatories
- Review ALJ decisions and recommend appeals to the Appeals Council while communicating effectively with claimants
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum one year of experience in SSD/SSI advocacy
- Fluency in evaluating claims under the five-step disability adjudication process
- Experience in drafting OTR requests and hearing-level briefs
- Understanding of medical terminology and non-medical aspects of Social Security disability practice
