Job Summary

To support a growing rental facility, the full-time Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) will perform maintenance and repair on a variety of heavy equipment and aerial lifts while utilizing technology to track work orders and diagnose issues in Lafayette, LA.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on heavy equipment
• Utilize technology to create, assign, and monitor work orders while maintaining accurate documentation of work performed
• Assist in training lower-level technicians and ensure adherence to safety practices and OSHA requirements

Required qualifications

• High School diploma; Trade school certificate preferred
• Must own tools applicable to the position
• Advanced mechanical aptitude with extensive knowledge of construction equipment
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with the role
