HIM Coordinator

Job Summary

Coordinating the lifecycle of the legal health record, the full-time HIM Coordinator will manage analysis, release of information, and auditing functions while ensuring compliance and process improvement in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a HIM support resource, coordinating special projects focused on the legal health record lifecycle and operations
• Conduct quality assurance audits of optical imaging staff and those entering paper information into the legal health record to ensure integrity
• Assist in designing optimized workflows and processes to achieve efficient results in managing protected health information

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in HIM Department operations or an Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or Management
• Preferred Bachelor's degree in health information technology or related field
• Registered Health Information Technologists (RHIT) credentials or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) are a plus
