HIM Operations Specialist

Job Summary

Working full-time in a remote capacity, the HIM Operations Specialist will manage medical record documentation processes, ensuring accurate classification, compliance with regulations, and support for health maintenance initiatives while collaborating with various departments to optimize workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and classify clinical documentation, assigning and tracking medical record deficiencies in the chart management system
• Review and process Health Maintenance results and Advance Care Planning Directives in accordance with state guidelines
• Perform HIM and coding support functions, contributing to key performance metrics and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of experience in healthcare
• Proficient in using computer software systems such as Epic and OnBase
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Basic knowledge of HIPAA and safeguarding protected health information (PHI)
