HIM Specialist - Cardiology

Job Summary

To ensure the integrity and confidentiality of patient data, the full-time HIM Specialist - Cardiology will manage electronic health record documentation, perform quality audits of medical records, and assist healthcare providers in completing patient records in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepares, scans, and indexes medical record documents while performing quality audits to maintain data integrity
• Facilitates the completion of electronic health records by identifying deficiencies and assisting physicians with documentation
• Manages the preparation and distribution of information from the patients' legal health records as requested by authorized personnel

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of medical record formats and content for inpatient and outpatient visits
• Previous experience in a hospital HIM department preferred
• Familiarity with electronic legal health record systems preferred
• Ability to perform computer functions in a Microsoft Windows environment
