HIPAA Compliance Consultant

Job Summary

To support independent assessments of HIPAA compliance, the part-time HIPAA Compliance Assessor/Consultant will evaluate how websites, apps, or platforms collect, use, and protect user data, particularly focusing on minors and children, in a remote consulting capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Identify Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) and locate systems holding sensitive data
• Assess security measures and determine potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Document and prioritize findings, creating formal reports and risk mitigation plans

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with HIPAA assessments and reporting
• Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines and relevant frameworks
• Hands-on experience conducting privacy assessments and audits
• Experience reviewing consumer-facing systems for consent and privacy controls
• Ability to translate regulations into practical findings and recommendations
