Job Summary
A financial group is in need of a Home Based Individual Life Senior Underwriter in Hartford.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Evaluating and handling all underwriting aspects of formal applications
- Understanding underwriting policies, guidelines, practices and procedures
- Interacting with customers to enhance relationships
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Visit offices and meets with customers when they come to Home Office
- Undergraduate degree with educational concentration in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field is or 4 years of comparable work experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in underwriting long term care (LTC) insurance products including medical, non-medical and long term care risk selection
- 3 - 5 years of experience in underwriting of Life Insurance products
- Microsoft Office
- A demonstrated track record of working with minimal supervision, being a self-starter and working with others in a team environment
