Job Summary

Teaching online undergraduate courses in horticulture, hydroponics, aquaponics, and climate-smart agriculture, the part-time Horticulture Adjunct Instructor will facilitate student engagement and provide timely feedback in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities
  • Facilitate engagement in 5-week undergraduate-level courses, ensuring active participation and timely feedback
  • Manage asynchronous course delivery for an average of 20 students, utilizing digital tools for communication and assessment
  • Contribute to the institution's commitment to sustainability and maintain professional knowledge through ongoing development
Required qualifications
  • Terminal degree (e.g., PhD) in horticulture or a related field, or a master's degree with significant professional experience
  • Experience teaching adult learners, preferably in an online environment
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems, such as Canvas
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the institution
