HPC Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Privacy Research Program, the remote, full-time HPC Engineer will design, develop, and deploy high-performance computing systems and applications while providing technical guidance for installation, configuration, and maintenance of HPC systems and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy secure, compliant services within the research computing ecosystem as part of the Privacy Program
• Provide system administration services and consult on innovative architectures for new software and hardware components
• Maintain connections with the research computing community to adopt effective methods and solutions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science field or a High School Diploma with 8+ years of related experience
• Experience with high-performance computing technologies, including job schedulers and containers
• Extensive scripting experience (e.g., Shell, Python) and proficiency in managing Linux HPC clusters
• Strong background in installing and maintaining research computing web gateway solutions
• Ability to learn new technologies rapidly and support academic researchers effectively
