Job Summary
To support NASA's human spaceflight programs, the full-time HPC Linux System Administrator will manage and improve a high-performance computing cluster, administering job schedulers and parallel filesystems while collaborating with scientists and engineers, with remote work considered for candidates demonstrating strong HPC experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Administer an HPC job scheduler and high-speed parallel filesystem, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting
- Support containerized HPC workflows and CI/CD processes, enhancing operational efficiency
- Collaborate directly with scientists and engineers to meet the computing needs of various spaceflight programs
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience administering an HPC job scheduler (Slurm, PBS/Torque, or LSF)
- Proven experience managing a high-speed parallel filesystem (Lustre or GPFS)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field
- Experience using containers in an HPC context and building CI/CD workflows
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
