HR and Payroll Manager

Job Summary

To support various clients, the contract HR and Payroll Manager will manage end-to-end payroll processing, lead HRIS and payroll implementations, and ensure compliance across multiple states while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own payroll operations, including processing, accuracy, and compliance across applicable states
• Lead HRIS and payroll system implementations and optimizations for clients, including change management and system upgrades
• Ensure HR data integrity and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering reporting and dashboards for workforce planning

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience running payroll and HRIS/HCM systems
• Background as an HR Generalist or HRBP with broad exposure across the employee lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with core HRIS and Payroll platforms, such as HiBob, Dayforce, or Rippling
• Deep knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance, tax, and wage/hour requirements
• Experience working directly with clients in consulting, professional services, or agencies
