HR Generalist Contractor

Job Summary

To provide parental leave coverage for the Head of People, a part-time HR Generalist Contractor will manage day-to-day People operations, employee relations, and compliance for approximately 80 employees in a fully remote environment from August 2026 to February 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for employee and manager inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and People matters
• Administer onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes while maintaining accurate HR records
• Provide guidance on employee relations issues and support managers with performance documentation and policy interpretation

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes and HR administration
• Experience advising managers on employee relations and performance issues
• Ability to work independently in a small or scaling company environment
• Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and HRIS tools
