Job Summary
Owning HR for a portfolio of cannabis industry clients, the remote contract Human Resources Business Partner will manage employee relations, full-cycle recruiting, and payroll while providing strategic advisory support and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities
- Handle terminations, disciplinary conversations, and workplace investigations while coaching managers through difficult situations
- Manage full-cycle recruiting processes across client accounts, including job postings, interviews, and offers
- Process and manage payroll for client accounts, ensuring accuracy and advising clients on labor reports and ratios
Required qualifications
- 4 or more years of HR experience, preferably with a background in operations, healthcare, hospitality, or military
- Experience managing multiple clients or employers simultaneously, demonstrating strong context-switching abilities
- Proven ability to handle difficult conversations with employees and managers directly
- Self-directed, organized, and flexible, with a strong focus on people-centric HR practices
- Curiosity about the cannabis industry is required; prior cannabis experience is a meaningful plus
