IBM iSeries Engineer
Job Summary
To support a managed services engineering team, the full-time remote Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer will maintain customer IBM i/iSeries environments, plan and migrate systems, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incidents and requests, providing in-depth analysis and solutions to meet service level agreements
- Maintain and configure the IBM i OS and Licensed Program Products while ensuring proper handling of system backups
- Participate in technical infrastructure projects as the IBM i subject matter expert and implement new technologies
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of IBM iSeries System Administration experience
- Knowledge of i/OS systems from V5R4 to V7R3 and major differentiators
- Experience configuring LPARs using the Hardware Management Console
- Familiarity with software-based replication (MIMIX, iTera) and BRMS backup solutions
- Experience with TCP/IP configuration and associated servers in an IPv4 environment
