IBM z/OS Systems Programmer
Job Summary
Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the IBM z/OS operating system, the full-time remote IBM z/OS Systems Programmer will ensure the stability and performance of critical banking applications while leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring junior staff.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support IBM z/OS operating systems and related software in production and non-production environments
- Lead technical efforts for enterprise mainframe infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, and service implementations
- Monitor system health and performance, investigating and resolving complex system incidents while recommending improvements
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting IBM z/OS operating systems in a large enterprise environment
- Experience with SMP/E for software maintenance and lifecycle management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues
- Experience reading and interpreting technical documentation and diagnostic information
- Proven ability to mentor and train less experienced technical staff
