ICD-10 Coder I

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Coder I, Technical will code same-day surgery accounts, CPT procedures, and diagnosis coding while adhering to productivity and quality standards during business hours.

Key responsibilities:

• Code same-day surgery accounts and assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes based on physician documentation
• Review coding for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to the billing system, utilizing standard coding guidelines
• Participate in monthly coding meetings and maintain continuing education to ensure compliance with updated coding practices

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of an AHIMA or AACP-certified Coding program or equivalent, including Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology
• Preferred 6 months of hospital coding experience
• Knowledge of ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM and CPT Coding Guidelines and Procedures
• Act 34 clearance required
