IEC 61850 Applications Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Green Energy transition, the full-time remote IEC 61850 Applications Engineer will define technical requirements and solutions for IEC 61850-based architectures, collaborate with product teams, and develop real-time controller solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical definition and implementation of IEC 61850-based architectures, including data modeling and system integration
• Collaborate with Program & Product Management to create high-level specifications and develop real-time controller solutions
• Provide technical guidance and training to engineers and specialists while analyzing user specifications to recommend appropriate solutions

Required qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree is strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of development experience in protection, control, and automation products for transmission and distribution systems
• In-depth knowledge of the IEC 61850 standard, including logical node modeling and communication services
• Proven experience with IEC 61850 system engineering and interoperability
• Strong practical experience with real-time controller platforms in protection and automation markets
