Illinois Licensed Benefits Underwriter
Job Summary
To support strategic initiatives for long-term growth, the full-time Illinois Licensed Benefits Underwriter will manage the quoting, rating, and issuance of new business and renewals while collaborating with various internal teams in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct case underwriting for Health coverage, including manual and experience rating for new business and renewals
- Deliver timely and accurate quotes by evaluating risks and determining premiums based on coverage requests
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and achieve premium retention and loss ratio targets
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field
- 5 years of Health Insurance Underwriting experience or 3 years with a master's degree
- State Accident and Health Insurance license is a plus
- Charter Healthcare Consultant (ChHC) or Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) certification is a plus
