Job Summary
Identifying and documenting cancer patient data, the full-time Illinois Licensed Cancer Registrar will analyze treatment histories and submit required reports to state cancer databases while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and document cancer patient histories, diagnoses, and treatment data
- Prepare and electronically submit required reporting information to state and cancer databases
- Coordinate and maintain long-term follow-up processes for cancer registry data collection
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management
- 5+ years of abstracting experience in a CoC approved cancer program
- Certification from the National Cancer Registrars' Association (NCRA)
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification
- Strong understanding of cancer data collection and medical coding
