Job Summary
To support ambulatory clinical documentation integrity, the part-time Illinois Licensed Clinical Document Specialist will perform chart reviews, ensure accurate coding assignments, and provide education and feedback to healthcare providers while working remotely as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Review and enhance the quality and completeness of diagnostic and E/M codes
- Provide education and coding materials to medical staff and coding teams
- Assist in documentation requirements to accurately reflect patient care provided
Required qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or similar coding credential
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding practices
- Experience with ICD10CM, CPT E/M, and CPT Surgical coding
- Ability to conduct coding audits and provide constructive feedback
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements related to coding
