Job Summary

To support ambulatory clinical documentation integrity, the part-time Illinois Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will perform chart reviews for accurate code assignment, provide coding education to medical staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while working remotely on an as-needed basis.

Key responsibilities
  • Review diagnostic and E/M codes to improve documentation quality and completeness
  • Provide education and coding materials to the coding team and medical staff on ICD10CM and CPT coding
  • Assist facility staff with documentation requirements to accurately reflect patient care provided
Required qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent coding certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
  • Experience with CPT E/M coding and ICD10CM coding
  • Ability to conduct coding audits and provide feedback
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in coding practices
