Job Summary
Leading the coding operations, the full-time Illinois Licensed Coding Lead will coordinate daily priorities, manage charge review and coding-related claim work queues, and ensure accurate coding in compliance with guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinates shift operations and assigns daily tasks to coding staff while providing mentorship and training
- Manages charge review processes and resolves coding-related claim issues to ensure timely and accurate charge capture
- Analyzes coding denial trends and collaborates with teams to implement process improvements and enhance coding accuracy
Required qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of three years of coding experience
- Certification as a Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
- Proficiency in reviewing medical records and entering CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and coding staff to resolve documentation and coding inquiries
