Illinois Licensed Commercial Counsel
Job Summary
To support strategic business initiatives, the full-time Illinois Licensed Commercial Counsel will draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of commercial transactions, focusing on SaaS, software licensing, and cloud services, while working in a remote/hybrid environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead negotiations and transactions related to software, SaaS, cloud services, and strategic partnerships while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Provide legal advice and business counsel on commercial and operational issues, managing a high volume of contracts from straightforward to complex
- Engage with customers to ensure their needs are met and suggest improvements in contracting processes for enhanced efficiency
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
- Four to six years of relevant experience in-house or at a law firm supporting technology transactions
- Experience negotiating SaaS, software, cloud services, and enterprise commercial agreements
- Understanding of technology, including legal technology, cloud services, and regulatory considerations
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency with legal technology tools, Microsoft O365, and contract management software
