Illinois Licensed Deputy General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Deputy General Counsel to serve as a senior legal leader and strategic business partner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and lead the global legal function, including team management and outside counsel oversight
• Lead legal support for high-volume contracting, ensuring alignment between legal risk and revenue objectives
• Serve as lead in-house counsel on M&A transactions, overseeing due diligence and negotiation processes

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house roles
• 3-5+ years in a senior in-house leadership role, preferably in PE- or late-stage VC-backed companies
• Extensive experience in high-volume commercial contracting within a sales-driven organization
• Strong experience in employment law, disputes, and litigation management
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
