Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with nonprofit regulations and manage risk mitigation strategies
• Draft and review contracts, ensuring organizational compliance with applicable laws
• Provide strategic legal counsel and assess legal needs, including liaising with outside counsel

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree with 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit law and compliance
• Current member in good standing with a state bar, preferably Illinois
• Experience in nonprofit governance, including c4 organizations
• Strong understanding of nonprofit law, tax regulations, and employment law
• Proven ability to communicate legal matters to a lay audience
