Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Illinois Licensed Legal Counsel, the full-time remote attorney will provide strategic legal guidance on higher education matters, including student affairs and compliance, while collaborating with a dynamic team to support institutional governance and risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Providing legal counsel and risk assessment on operational and strategic matters related to higher education
- Advising on student affairs and academic issues, including Title IX and accessibility accommodations
- Supporting compliance with federal and state higher education regulations and conducting investigations as needed
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law and higher education law
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Experience providing legal counsel in higher education environments
- Strong knowledge of higher education regulatory frameworks, including Title IX and FERPA
- Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in Illinois upon hire
