Key Responsibilities

• Assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types based on thorough medical record reviews
• Interprets health record documentation to report accurate diagnoses and procedures, ensuring a minimum coding accuracy of 95%
• Utilizes technical expertise to analyze system changes and resolve NCCI Edits with approved hospital modifiers

Required Qualifications

• Credentialed by the AHIMA with a requirement of 20-30 CE credits every two years
• 3-4 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting
• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentialed
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
