Illinois Licensed Patient Financial Services Representative

Job Summary

To support a world-class academic healthcare system, the full-time Illinois Licensed Patient Financial Services Representative will manage collections and final resolution of insurance claims, maintain records in accordance with department procedures, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Process Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims in compliance with state regulatory directives
• Contact third parties and patients to collect payments due for services rendered and follow up on aging accounts
• Manage daily processing of charity, self-pay discounts, and other reports to maintain timely billing for patients

Required qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Two years of hospital business office experience preferred
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding HIPAA, billing, and collections
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing/denial processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with typing speed of 30 words per minute
