Illinois Licensed RN Specialist
Job Summary
Facilitating patient transfers into and out of Carle Hospital, the full-time Illinois Licensed RN Specialist will manage communications between referring and accepting physicians, assess patient needs, and ensure timely transport while working remotely during evening shifts with a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Expedite consultations between referring patient-care providers and receiving physicians, ensuring timely and appropriate transfers
- Utilize established protocols to assess patient acuity and coordinate acceptance, admission, and transfer processes
- Maintain communication with referring facilities and provide follow-up to ensure continuity of care post-transfer
Required qualifications
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- College Diploma in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
