Job Summary

Facilitating patient transfers into and out of Carle Hospital, the part-time Illinois Licensed RN Specialist will manage communication between referring and accepting physicians, ensure appropriate patient placement, and oversee the transfer process while working remotely on a day shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Expedite consultations between referring patient-care providers and receiving physicians to ensure timely and appropriate patient transfers
• Utilize established protocols to coordinate acceptance, admission, and transfer processes while maintaining clear communication with all parties involved
• Document all transfer-related information accurately in electronic medical records and provide follow-up communication to ensure continuity of care

Required qualifications

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
• College Diploma in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong clinical assessment skills to evaluate patient acuity and needs
