Illinois Licensed Staff Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Counsel for the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of litigation, including legal research, drafting documents, and conducting discovery proceedings
• Develop and implement legal strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial preparation
• Lead investigations and coordinate with claims personnel, forensic experts, and outside vendors

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the bar in Illinois and in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years of trial attorney experience, preferably in insurance law
• General knowledge of insurance law and related litigation
• Proficient in e-discovery tools and legal case management software
