Incident Commander

Job Summary

To lead cybersecurity incident response efforts, the part-time Incident Commander will manage and coordinate all response activities during major cyber events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage incident response activities for high-impact cybersecurity incidents, including ransomware and data breaches
• Establish response priorities, coordinate technical investigations, and oversee containment and recovery actions
• Translate complex technical findings into actionable business information and deliver executive briefings on incident status

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience leading cybersecurity incident response operations in enterprise or critical infrastructure environments
• Strong knowledge of incident handling methodologies, cyber attack lifecycles, and breach management
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate crisis communications
• Experience coordinating forensic investigations and threat intelligence activities
• Preferred certifications include CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CISM, or equivalent industry-recognized certifications
