Job Summary
To lead cybersecurity incident response efforts, the part-time Incident Commander will manage and coordinate all response activities during major cyber events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and manage incident response activities for high-impact cybersecurity incidents, including ransomware and data breaches
- Establish response priorities, coordinate technical investigations, and oversee containment and recovery actions
- Translate complex technical findings into actionable business information and deliver executive briefings on incident status
Required qualifications
- Extensive experience leading cybersecurity incident response operations in enterprise or critical infrastructure environments
- Strong knowledge of incident handling methodologies, cyber attack lifecycles, and breach management
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate crisis communications
- Experience coordinating forensic investigations and threat intelligence activities
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CISM, or equivalent industry-recognized certifications
