Indiana and Kentucky Underwriting Counsel

Job Summary

Providing underwriting support and authorization, the full-time remote Indiana and Kentucky Underwriting Counsel will examine title orders, assess risks, and issue title insurance commitments and policies while collaborating with company personnel and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Examine title orders to determine conditions of title and insurability based on various legal documents
• Research title plant software and evaluate record documents to determine ownership and legal descriptions
• Explain chain of title and exceptions to customers while formulating solutions for title defects

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of title underwriting experience
• Familiarity with real estate law and title insurance regulations
• Strong understanding of real estate title and settlement processes
• Ability to collaborate effectively and act decisively
• General knowledge of underwriting real estate transactions
