Job Summary
A school district is seeking an Indiana State Licensed Visually Impaired Teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting resource teacher, adaptive equipment instruction, orientation & mobility instruction, daily living skills, low vision equipment adaptation, braille, facilitated IEP meetings, liaison between parents, teachers, ophthalmologist, & community, advocacy for students and educational tutoring
- Working with K-12 students with mild to moderate visual impairments
- Collaborating with IT experts and credentialing professionals to support digital solutions and licensure process
Qualifications:
- Teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Illinois
- Experience in the field of visual impairment education
- Strong knowledge of adaptive equipment, orientation & mobility, daily living skills, low vision equipment adaptation, and braille
- Ability to facilitate IEP meetings and serve as a liaison between various stakeholders
- Passion for advocating for students with visual impairments and providing educational support
