Job Summary
Providing technical and strategic support, the part-time Infection Control Consultant will enhance infection prevention and control measures for epidemic and outbreak preparedness, focusing on multidrug-resistant pathogens in health care settings while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering technical guidance on IPC measures for epidemic-prone diseases and supporting outbreak investigations in health care settings
- Developing and disseminating IPC and AMR-related guidelines, standard operating procedures, and training materials for health facilities
- Conducting capacity-building activities and facilitating coordination between IPC teams, laboratories, and public health authorities
Required qualifications
- University degree in medicine, nursing, public health, epidemiology, or a related field; a master's degree is an asset
- Minimum nine years of experience in infection prevention and control, particularly in outbreak preparedness and response
- Experience with multidrug-resistant organisms and developing technical guidance for IPC and AMR
- Strong knowledge of IPC principles, practices, and AMR-related threats in health care settings
- Fluency in English or Spanish, with working knowledge of the other language; knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is a plus
