Information Designer

Job Summary

Transforming complex economic and financial datasets into clear visual narratives, the full-time Visual Information Designer will create impactful information graphics for various platforms while collaborating closely with reporters and editors in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design high-fidelity charts and explanatory graphics for news articles and special projects
• Translate sophisticated financial concepts into intuitive visual assets for a global audience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and pitch data visualization opportunities that enhance storytelling

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in information design, data visualization, or editorial graphics within a digital newsroom or media entity
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in data visualization and a command of typography and visual hierarchy
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with knowledge of Photoshop and Figma
• Experience with digital visualization tools like Datawrapper or Flourish for manipulating enterprise datasets
• Proven ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
