Information System Security Officer

Job Summary

Supporting the U.S. Department of Transportation, the full-time Information System Security Officer will manage the operational security posture of assigned information systems, ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements, and coordinate with various stakeholders, with the option for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the operational security posture for assigned information systems and programs
• Develop and update system security documentation, including System Security Plans and security authorization packages
• Manage day-to-day security operations and monitor information systems for compliance with security controls

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of information security experience supporting federal information systems
• Experience as an ISSO or similar security role
• Strong understanding of the NIST Risk Management Framework and NIST SP 800-53 security controls
• Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and continuous monitoring programs
