Job Summary
Seeking an entrepreneurial Inland Marine Underwriter, the full-time remote position will involve building a profitable book of business from scratch, underwriting complex risks, and cultivating relationships with production sources, focusing on Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of originating, underwriting, and growing a new Inland Marine book of business
- Evaluate, price, and bind risks while focusing on Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment
- Develop relationships with production sources and establish new partnerships as needed
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial Inland Marine underwriting experience
- Proven expertise in Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment lines
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic and comfort with ambiguity
- Existing relationships with wholesale brokers are a plus, with a proven ability to build a submission pipeline
- Competency in Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment coverage; AAIS experience appreciated
