Innovation Science Manager

Job Summary

Supporting cross-functional teams, the full-time temporary Innovation Science Manager will lead discovery activities for strategic platforms, scout innovative ingredients and technologies, and collaborate with various departments to develop comprehensive innovation briefs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery activities for evaluating opportunities in early phases of innovation
• Scout and assess ingredients, technologies, and packaging options to build an innovation pipeline
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to vet new ingredients for scientific validity and commercialization potential

Required qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in product development, tech scouting, or upstream innovation within the nutrition or supplement industry
• Experience in R&D product or ingredient development, particularly with vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements
• Strong discovery skills with the ability to ask insightful questions and understand strategic concepts
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate complex scientific ideas effectively
