Inpatient Audit Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Audit Specialist to conduct coding audits and provide education related to coding quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient coding audits using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other coding references
• Provide coder education and prepare final reports for coding audits
• Meet with client facility representatives to discuss audit findings and trends

Required Qualifications and Education

• 3-5 years of experience in auditing
• Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or a certificate from AAPC, with a preference for CCS
• Preferred credentials: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
• Recent experience in academic/level 1 trauma centers
• Experience with various software including EMR, Encoder, and Auditing software
