Inpatient Audit Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Audit Specialist to conduct coding audits and provide education related to coding quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient coding audits on medical records and ensure accurate DRG and APC assignment
• Provide coder education and prepare reports on audit findings for review
• Organize and prioritize multiple cases to ensure efficient workflow and resolution of issues

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in coding and auditing
• Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or completion of a certificate program from AAPC with a preference for CCS
• Preferred credentials include CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
• Recent experience in academic or level 1 trauma centers
• Experience with EMR, Encoder, and Auditing software
