Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder responsible for assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence appropriate codes to patient charts based on medical documentation
• Review medical records for accurate assignment of diagnoses and procedures while adhering to coding standards
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and collaborate with healthcare providers for accurate coding

Required Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in medical record coding in an acute care setting
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
• Functional knowledge of EMR, Encoder, and CDI tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
