Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Inpatient Coder, a full-time or PRN position, is responsible for accurately coding inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes while maintaining a quality standard of 95% or greater.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient coding for medical records in compliance with coding standards
• Ensure coding accuracy and quality while meeting client productivity targets
• Utilize remote connectivity tools and office software for effective communication and data management

Required Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CIC, COC)
• A minimum of two years of recent inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in coding ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes
• Knowledge of MS DRG Coding Classification Systems
• Technical competency with remote-based connectivity and office software
