Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To maintain coding accuracy and data integrity, the full-time remote Inpatient Corporate Coder will be responsible for coding and abstracting clinical information from medical records, conducting quality reviews, and assisting in training new coders.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately and productively code/abstract patient health documentation for assigned facilities
• Review flagged cases for coding accuracy and assist in coding quality audits
• Participate in coding education and maintain professional coding credentials

Required qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 1-3 years of inpatient coding experience
• Proficient in MS Office suite
• Strong technical background with electronic medical record experience
• Completion of at least one AHIMA certified program with the corresponding professional credential preferred
