Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Inpatient Coder will accurately code and abstract clinical information from medical records, maintain coding data quality, and assist with training and quality reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately and productively code/abstract patient health documentation for assigned facilities
• Review flagged cases for coding accuracy and assist in coding quality reviews/audits
• Attend coding education sessions and maintain professional coding credentials

Required qualifications

• Associates or higher-level degree in a Health Information Management discipline
• Successful completion of at least one AHIMA certified program with the corresponding professional credential preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, etc.)
• 1-3 years of inpatient coding experience
• Skilled and working knowledge of MS Office suite
• Strong technical background and electronic medical record experience
